The Murder of Emmett Till plot

In August 1955, a 14-year-old boy whistles to a white woman at a grocery store in Money, Mississippi. Emmett Till, the Chicago teen, doesn't understand how he has broken the unwritten laws of the Jim Crow South. Three days later, two white men kidnap, assault and murder him. The killers are brought to justice, but are quickly acquitted by an all-white, male jury. Shortly afterwards, they sell their story, including a detailed description of Till's assault and murder, to a journalist.
