"One person can change your life forever."
Amélie is looking for love and the meaning of life. She is a waitress in the center of Montmartre, where she interacts with her neighbors and customers, as well as a mysterious photo collector. Slowly Amélie realizes that the road to happiness will not reveal itself by itself, but that she will have to show initiative for it. She finds her happiness by making an effort for the happiness of others.

I can actually sum up the film in one word: boring! This film just turned out not to be for me; it was a real torture to watch it to the end. For once, absolutely nothing happened that could hold my attention in the slightest, making the film a real long haul. You could say that Audrey Tautou does a good job in her role, but that couldn't save the film at all. Besides the fact that absolutely nothing interesting happened, the characters themselves were simply sleep-inducing.
I am glad that I finally saw Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain (since the majority of viewers are full of praise), but that is all there is to say.
Well, I guess I'll be the exception that proves the rule?

Ameliee!
A lovely feel-good movie! A French gem. I was immediately drawn into the film, partly due to the fun voice-over with its trivial but funny and relatable details. I also sympathized with Amelie, such a sweet and cute girl. By the way, Audrey Tautou *is* totally Amelie.
The story itself isn't particularly remarkable, but it is such a warm and charming film that moves me every time I watch it.
It is also funny that a large part of the plot is the search for the secret man in the 'photo album,' who turns out to be just the repairman. But Jeunet gets away with this.
I do like the subtle humor: Amelie breaking into the greengrocer's house. (Indeed, disturbing how quickly she typed in that psychiatrist's number 
I also noticed after watching it several times that this film is completely green, red, and yellow.. It gives the film such a cheerful atmosphere without actually being noticeable (if that makes sense).
Another special mention for Yann Tiersen with his wonderful music!
I'm giving it just shy of 5 stars because I was a little bit annoyed by how long it took before Amelie and Nino got together. That could have happened a bit faster. How it happened, though, was totally fine
