Once again, a Ghostface killer surfaces, this time in the sleepy town where Sidney Prescott has built her new life. Moreover, her worst fears are realized when the perpetrator targets her daughter. Determined to protect her family, Sidney is confronted with the horrors of her past.

Uh-huh.
Admittedly, the film is less annoying than part 6. The level of stupidity is slightly lower. Add to that some delightfully nasty kills, culminating in the beer tap, which is definitely one of my top 3 slasher kills of the last 20 years. Wonderful. Unfortunately, the film falls apart in the third act, and we descend into a standard Scooby-Doo with a far-fetched perpetrator and motive. It's a shame; this film promised to be something different, but uses modern technology to place it in the current zeitgeist, which simultaneously makes it very weak.
Just stop this series now

A decent film in which a mother and daughter are at risk of losing their lives when a killer returns. You get exactly what you'd expect here. Some great kills and some quite suspenseful moments. It's certainly entertaining, but ultimately a bit too much of the same (and nothing new is revealed).

The weakest of the new installments; I think I mainly missed some nice locations in this part, although I didn't see the killer coming at all for once. Due to the lack of some nice locations, the film also lacked some suspense although there was a reference to part 1. I still find Neve Campbell a beautiful woman, but Courteney Cox uses a whole lot of Botox these days; that really struck me in this film. Three points for a surprising ending, but maybe it's time to stop; this Scream is entertaining too, but enough is enough.
