Womanizer and confirmed bachelor Alexander [Thomas Niehaus] unexpectedly finds love with the vivacious dancer Paula [Aenne Schwarz]. The whirlwind affair takes a tragic turn when Paula dies in an accident and Alexander reconnects with her family, including her shy sister Marlene [Sarah Hostettler], who always stood in Paula's shadow.
