"Killing isn't enough when there's hell to pay."
Legendary assassin Shuhei Sakata, who has shaken the underworld to its foundations, decides to retire. He wants to live a peaceful life with his beloved wife and daughter. Everything changes for Sakata when his family is killed by the mysterious organization Kimen-gumi, consisting of masked villains who rule the city of Shinjo from behind the scenes. For Sakata, there is only one thing left: revenge.

Nice action film. The story is thin but that is allowed in this genre. The execution is nicely over the top and bloody and far from realistic. The pace is nice and high and the film is easy to watch. The action scenes are hard and sometimes a bit monotonous, but are professionally portrayed. It is not really innovative but fine viewing material for in between. Visually very good and the masks make it extra dark. 3.0/3.5
