The Night Is Dark and Colder Than the Day plot
Christina Friedrich is fascinated by the world of children, their imagination and everything that Western culture associates with the behavior and fantasy of children. Her film begins with a conversation in a gymnasium. Friedrich invites the children in the hall to share their fears with her and with each other. The film quickly changes into a series of images and scenes that seem like fairy tales. In these, the children not only talk about their fears and worries, but also about dreams, beliefs and visions, gods, dinosaurs, angels and other wonderful creatures.
