Le Maître du Temps plot

An alien lands on Earth. He washes up on a Brazilian beach and with the help of a special ring he can travel through time. He does so, in the same region where he washes up, from about 1500 to 1970. Over the centuries he sees how humanity changes and yet remains the same.
