This is starting to get tiresome. They're going for a trilogy here, which, with a bit of quicker pacing, could have all been crammed into one two-hour film, instead of the 4.5-hour three-film format.

This film is clearly the second act and Harlin doesn't even try to disguise it with the lame ending: to be continued.
One pointless filler after another passes by, with the meaningless flashbacks of one of those masked perpetrators as the biggest waste of time. For the rest, the film repeats itself constantly. Hopping from location to location, hiding from the "Strangers", others she encounters who want to help her only to be shot through the head with an arrow... You know the drill, only the film repeats itself several times here too (morgue, homeowner, the FBI agent or something like that and the group of creepy youngsters who help her. This is what I mean when I say that this whole movie could have been done in 20 minutes.
Add to that a bizarrely stupid scene with a pig and the final girl who crawls past a dead paramedic and then into the back of his ambulance and says "drive." Who do you think is in that ambulance? And also those young men who call her. Couldn't you just act normal with a girl so she doesn't have to freak out? And those creepy sermons on their radios in the car and at home. Why? If they never meant any harm and simultaneously look way too young and hip for that creepy junk. It just doesn't make any sense.

Ugh, I love this genre, and this setting is so good. But this is uninspired and overly drawn-out garbage that doesn't even have an ending. Cut it by more than an hour, and it would save a lot of frustration.

An entertaining sequel to the poorly received first film, albeit one with an even greater lack of logic and little justification for existing at all. Fortunately, director Renny Harlin proves himself a skilled craftsman, creating plenty of suspenseful moments along with atmospheric scenarios. Madelaine Petsch also represents the highest level of final girl performance, with excellent acting in a difficult character. The other roles, such as those of Richard Brake and Gabriel Basso, also perform well, but are given too little playing time to stand out. It's all well-entertained and doesn't last too long, but for fans of this world, there's little innovation and a lack of progression. It's mainly more of the same, but in different locations.

I thought it couldn't get any worse after Chapter 1, but congratulations, you passed. Maybe give us a short jail sentence or an ankle monitor to keep us entertained with this misery...

Renny Harlin is simply excellent. Chapter 1 was just fine, and this one is too. Of course, it's not perfect. But if you know what you're watching, the first two chapters are perfectly good horror.

This part is a step better because of the exciting chases culminating in an Evil Dead pov.

Harlin really throws in some nice elements. The lead actress comes across as realistic. Her panic attacks are just like anyone else's. She didn't trust anyone, and neither did I. It could be anyone behind the masks.

I really don't understand the hate. Maybe after Chapter Three is released, the films will get more recognition?

Strangers Chapters 1 and 2 are light years better than, for example, Halloween Kills and Ends.
