Scary Tales: Dark Walker plot

Four strangers have all found themselves in a situation they can’t possibly understand. They’ve been kidnapped by what appears to be a shady government organization and thrown together, but why? After the foursome are drugged by the strange group, they wake up in a remote house to find themselves surrounded by impossible creatures that each of them has encountered before in one way or another. As the strangers try to figure out what’s going on, horrors descend upon them and they must band together and fight back or none of them will ever get home.

Director Geno McGahee runs with an intriguing and humorous concept, but lacks the creativity to handle his low budget. For instance, the characters are repeatedly attacked by menaces wearing nothing more than a simple, expressionless toy mask. Without even bothering to incorporate practical effects, Scary Tales essentially loses the battle with itself. The cast is unconvincing, and the glitchy soundtrack occasionally hurts your ears, but the brevity and unpredictable concept earn it some minor bonus points.
