Heartwarming, exceptionally beautiful documentary about a young man from the Dominican Republic doing his first nursing internship at a residential care center in the Ghent area.

He does it so beautifully, so fantastically... A dream for every nursing home, I think. I am a nurse myself, and on the verge of being burned out... But when you see Simeon at work, your heart just melts again... The way he creates a bond with the residents... They are all crazy about him. The documentary also shows how he questions himself, what his role is, where the private/professional boundary lies. He listens and seeks the wise advice of his sweet grandmother who hovers somewhere above him and watches over him...

And unfortunately, a very contradictory message from his teachers or supervisors about how his work pace needs to increase. And in one fell swoop, it also undermines our entire healthcare system. Because such pressure has arisen, healthcare providers like Simeon simply can no longer do what they are good at: being there for the people, supporting them. I am so happy with how this documentary was shown and made. Granted, once you start working, you can't live up to all of this anymore. But damn, that is how it should be. Thanks to this documentary, criticism is directed at our healthcare system in a very beautiful way; it is on the verge of bursting, and is actually already collapsing.
