Writer and artist Marion Bloem must pick up her life again after the death of her husband. After 51 years of marriage, the loss is hard on her. She processes pain and sorrow through painting, because words are not enough.

Marion Bloem and Ivan Wolffers were married for 51 years when Wolffers died by euthanasia after suffering from cancer for a long time. This documentary starts shortly before Wolffers' death, but focuses mainly on how Marion Bloem continues her life. This means that she mainly speaks for herself, but that she is also given every opportunity to promote her art and her latest book (about her own grieving process). We see her paint, are shown images of an exhibition of her work and are treated to fragments from her novel 'Verkleed In Vreugde'. This superficial NPO documentary is a case of a waste of public funds.
