Return of Krampus is top-shelf pulp by default, but this is a project that comes across as just a bit more atmospheric. An atmospheric, well-chosen location is primarily credited with that, even within a production that feels pleasantly British. However, the acting is subpar, and this is particularly noticeable because director David Gregory places a heavy emphasis on drama. Moreover, once the little monster itself appears on screen, Return of Krampus devolves too much into cheap masks chasing hysterical teenagers.
