Criminal mastermind Mason is about to pull off the heist of a lifetime when his lover and key member of his team, Decker, takes out the team and reveals herself to be an undercover Interpol agent. Devastated, Mason escapes and retires from crime until his younger brother Shawn sets out to pull off a major bank robbery on his own. Mason has no choice but to come to his aid, while Interpol calls in Decker in hopes of discouraging him. Before the SWAT teams storm the bank, Mason must use every tool in his arsenal to escape not only with the loot, but also with the love of his life.

Career criminal Mason [John Travolta] has been keeping a low profile since he narrowly escaped the police after his love Amy [Kristin Davis] betrayed him. When his brother Shawn [Lukas Haas] asks for his help in a bank robbery, he only participates when he notices that Shawn has poorly prepared this action. The bank robbery does not go according to plan, resulting in a hostage situation. And it is not entirely coincidental that Amy is appointed. But then Mason and Shawn make a discovery that strengthens their negotiating position. In any case, Heistfilm tries to be original, but that is at the expense of tension, which makes it a bit dull. The cast keeps this going, especially Lukas Haas as the schlemielige brother.

Always been a fan of John Travolta. He plays here again with his typical flair that I am such a fan of, but I do not understand that he got caught by this B-movie that is a very simple clone of Casa del Papel. But no deep plots or plans. Everything is portrayed quite simply and nowhere real tension. Very low budget and few character roles from the other actors. Not to mention the extras. They played the hostages among others and came across as tame emotionless puppets that are not even worthy of the name extra... I did not get any attempts at action shots.
Give this 2.5* because I'm a fan of Travolta (without him this would only be worth 1.5* to me). If you don't like John, don't spend your time watching this movie.
