Jacques Romand is a teacher who has lost his calling. When he witnesses a robbery at a local grocery store, he helps arrest one of the thieves: 14-year-old Victor. But when Jacques discovers the plight of this school dropout who is forced to steal to survive, he does everything he can to help the youngster who is so badly off.
