Michael and his teammates prepare for a major endurance race through the Dominican Republic. As Michael's wife and daughter follow his journey, he encounters the same stray dog twice, hundreds of miles apart. The dog even appears to save his life by barking at him just before he would have walked off the edge of a cliff. Inspired by the dog's seemingly impossible journey across the race course to keep up, Michael and his team take the dog with them, name him 'Arthur the King' and make him their mascot on the way to the finish.

In the first scene, which takes place three years earlier, things go completely wrong. Wahlberg doesn't listen to his teammates and he refuses to let anyone get an IV (because that's a penalty with wasted time). What do you think? Also someone who joins the team and hasproblems with his knee, will that be reflected in the film? And will that really be a heavy drama or will it just happen and there will be no problem 5 minutes later? more? This is such a movie. The main character is actually a Swede and this was originally set in Ecuador, not the Dominican Republic. It makes you wonder what else is made up. Then I think of some scenes that really take it too far (with that cable car).
Nevertheless, the pace is good, you get to know a different kind of sports world and I had quite a good time. In any case, Wahlberg has a certain goodwill factor, which makes such a film quite bearable. It's not all high-flying cinema, but this thing is sufficient in the cinema hall and sometimes nothing more is needed. 3.0*.
