Arthur the King plot
"An unexpected encounter. An unlikely bond. An unforgettable adventure."
Michael and his teammates prepare for a major endurance race through the Dominican Republic. As Michael's wife and daughter follow his journey, he encounters the same stray dog twice, hundreds of miles apart. The dog even appears to save his life by barking at him just before he would have walked off the edge of a cliff. Inspired by the dog's seemingly impossible journey across the race course to keep up, Michael and his team take the dog with them, name him 'Arthur the King' and make him their mascot on the way to the finish.

In the first scene, which takes place three years earlier, things go completely wrong. Wahlberg doesn't listen to his teammates and he refuses to let anyone get an IV (because that's a penalty with wasted time). What do you think? Will I learn to listen to the course of the film and will someone need an IV that will allow it this time? This is such a movie. Also someone who joins the team and hasproblems with his knee, will that be reflected in the film? And will that really be a heavy drama or will it just happen and there will be no problem 5 minutes later? more? This is such a movie. The main character is actually a Swede and this was originally set in Ecuador, not the Dominican Republic. It makes you wonder what else is made up. Then I think of some scenes that really take it too far (with that cable car).
Nevertheless, the pace is good, you get to know a different kind of sports world and I had quite a good time. In any case, Wahlberg has a certain goodwill factor, which makes such a film quite bearable. It's not all high-flying cinema, but this thing is sufficient in the cinema hall and sometimes nothing more is needed. 3.0*.

Film adaptation of the non-fiction book by Swedish athlete Mikael Lindnord, who was joined by a stray dog during an Adventure Race in Ecuador who became a media sensation. Lindnord's alter ego is the American Michael Light [Mark Wahlberg], who ended his career in 2015 without winning a match. In 2018 he decided to try again in the Dominican Republic. During a race of more than 1000 kilometers, in which the teams alternate running, cycling, climbing and kayaking, the team is unexpectedly joined by a neglected dog [Ukai] who becomes the team mascot. Dog lovers can indulge themselves and convince Wahlberg, Liu, Nathalie Emmanuel and Ari Sulman as experienced adventure racers and there is a dizzying sequence that will have you biting your nails off. Great entertainment.

A true film according to EO standards. Mark Wahlberg's beard is very flaxen and looks nothing like the person he has to play, this does not apply to Mrs. Rylance who really looks like the wife.
Watch the film and you'll see what crowdfunding can do.
