"Evil Never Dies"
Stolen by crusaders on the night of his birth, he does not know his own origin: his mother is a demon, his father is a vampire. Trained and exploited by a brotherhood of mystical monks to kill all enemies of the Church, one night fate returns him to his father's castle. He is armed with the monster-slaying Sword of Laertes, to destroy the vampire Vladislas and reclaim a sacred relic: the Bloodstone.

About 25 years later, director Ted Nicolaou breathes new life into the old series, perhaps to squeeze some last money out of the basic idea. This series has never offered many new or fresh insights and the revival does not change that much, because this time the content concerns a well-known origin story that has already been revealed in the first part. The characters are explored a little more and the figure of Anders Hove is given a little more background, but it is never particularly original or distinctive. Hove is also a day older and his mumbling is really incomprehensible, which is a shame if the entire film has to revolve around his presence. However, Nicolaou works in a considerably more atmospheric way and the location choices are very strong. More attention is paid to cinematography and use of color, which gives the production a less cheap impression. The supporting role of Staša Nikolić is also well acted, making this part a small improvement compared to its two predecessors. Denice Duff returns as a different character, which caused me some confusion at first.
