Ever Wong is an American teenager whose parents surprise her with a trip to Taipei to attend a summer cultural immersion program. The program surprises Ever, as she learns that it is not intended for lessons or homework. Instead, Ever is part of a summer where she gets to do whatever she wants. She also meets two different handsome guys who are both crazy about her. As the summer drags on, Ever embarks on a romantic journey of self-discovery as she pursues her love of dancing while resisting her parents' high expectations.

Sympathetic film that is quite enjoyable viewing for three quarters of an hour - normal people with normal behavior and the atmosphere is nicely presented. Then the drama takes over and then the film is no longer sparkling or original (the film really becomes a typical film with a specific build-up of drama with a low point towards the end) and rather a bit dull. Too bad because the film ends as a bit of a bummer. 2.5*.
