"Based on the true story of an extraordinary friendship."
Brazilian fisherman João leads a lonely life, estranged from his wife and friends. One day he stumbles upon an oil-soaked penguin who is near death and miles from home. João takes care of the animal that is given the name Din Dim. When he gradually recovers, Din Dim is released into nature. In the following years, Din Dim finds his way back to his human friend.

Pinguinfeelgood.
The story is naturally sugary sweet, but also somewhat charming if you find the right moment. And the visuals are appropriately sweet, though perhaps they try a bit too hard to tell a coherent story. Especially towards the end, it becomes a bit too beautiful.
That the actors don't deliver world-class performances shouldn't be surprising; this isn't much of a film, after all, and the obvious target audience doesn't care. It's all about the penguins, and all ten of them give excellent performances.
