Great movie on sequel of the very good series.

In the beginning it took a while to get into it and I think some years have been skipped, but don't worry. Ultrud's friends were still the same actors and so was our friend the monk.

Enjoyed again. Highly recommended if you like this kind of movies

A beautiful end to a great series.

The series is truly my all time favorite nr 1!

The film...does what it has to do in the limited time available.

Sometimes it all feels a bit rushed and I missed some familiar characters from the series.

To be honest, I had hoped for more, but then you quickly need a new series instead of a film. It is a pity that this was not chosen anyway. It certainly has nothing to do with popularity/viewing figures!

All in all: well done, the series is now really finished, but I am somewhat disappointed....

Season 55 ended really great. I'm rarely impressed, but Season 5 sometimes left me feeling moved or on the edge of my seat with suspense. While Season 5 may end somewhat "open-ended," this movie may not have really needed to. It clearly does not reach the level of that last season and, as is often the case with film adaptations of series, feels too rushed. Again, they could have basically written a season of this and maybe filled in the time jump better. Several characters clearly lost interest in continuing or had no time to do so. Edward, Stiorra, Hild, Eadith, Aelswith, Eadgifu (other actress), Aelfwynn, Rognvaldr, Uhtred's monk son, ... are all missing. It's funny that Eadgifu is replaced by Elaine Cassidy, while she was played by Sonya Cassidy in season 5. Yet the two actresses are not related. In terms of female absence, it can certainly count. Now that there's not too much time for supporting cast, it's obviously faster sequential action. I think this movie is really optional. Ok, you know how it ends, but the open ending in season 5 is somehow perfect.
