The Grand Bolero plot
"Obsession at its most dangerous"
The story takes place in Northern Italy during the early days of the COVID pandemic, mainly in one location: a huge church from the 1700s. A pipe organ restorer lives inside. The burnt-out Roxanne and Paolo, who maintains the church, are constantly sounding "the death knell" as the pandemic continues to claim more victims. After Roxanne's assistant dies, Paolo insists that Roxanne hire a 20-year-old deaf-mute assistant named Lucia to take care of the old instruments and bring Lucia back to life in exchange for food, music lessons, and a place to sleep.
