Nominated for an Oscar (and eventually won), so the film was set up in one night. Was curious. After half an hour I found out that I secretly enjoyed this book adaptation. Although the lyrics are sweet and very cliché, I was pleasantly surprised. The animation is beautiful, even though they have taken over the strokes from the book almost one to one. Well done!
A film that can come back on the tube every Christmas / winter.

A children's book that was adapted into a film and stayed very close to the book. The target audience is therefore somewhat younger, and given that it came out quite recently, it is not childhood nostalgia for me at all. The story is held together by corny one-liners about the values of life. At the same time, the whole thing is dressed up with beautiful visuals and exudes tranquility. It sometimes reminds me a bit of Winnie the Pooh. The dialogues seem to come from another era and feel somewhat forced or boring. But the animation itself is timeless and lifts the film up again.
