"A dead body. A stolen Picasso. And this guy."
Investigative reporter and ex-Marine Irwin Maurice "Fletch" Fletcher finds himself in the middle of a murder investigation. Several people have been killed and Fletch is identified as the prime suspect in one. While looking to prove his innocence, Fletch is simultaneously tasked with recovering his fiancée Angela's stolen art collection. It is the only inheritance she has acquired after her father went missing and is presumed dead.

The character of Irwin 'Fletch' Fletcher was right up the street of Chevy Chase who played the role in Fletch (1985) and Fletch Lives (1989). Jon Hamm does his best, but lacks the comedic timing and irony of Chevy Chase. The story, in which Fletch not only becomes involved in a murder but is the main suspect, is often reminiscent of Fletch. What is striking is that Mottola does not take the mystery - surrounding trade in stolen works of art - too seriously, as witnessed by the many comic supporting roles. As a result, it is a disappointment for fans of the original films (including me). Apart from that, this is a no more than nice crime comedy that you will soon forget. Kyle MacLachlan is entertaining as a millionaire with a fear of contamination.

Reasonable film in which a former investigative journalist becomes involved in a murder investigation. It doesn't have much to it, but it looks easy. Quite funny here and there, and although Jon Hamm is not a Chevy Chase, he knows how to bring it fun. The plot could have been a little less complex for a movie like this.
