In the 1990s, after her father's death, teenage Jaime is sent to a community of Jehovah's Witnesses. She meets Marike, daughter of a prominent member. They begin a secret relationship that is hard to hide. When their environment gets wind of this, they are separated from each other.

Beautiful drama about growing up, in which orientation conflicts with religion. Well acted but the whole thing comes across as lukewarm. I find it difficult that young people in the prime of their puberty allow themselves to be so meekly pushed back into the closet. The Danish film To Verdener (Niels Arden Oplev, 2008) deals with almost the same theme, but is much better.

After her father's death, Jaime [Anwen O'Driscoll] moves in with her aunt Beth [Liana Balaban] so her mother can get things in order. It is a temporary return to the Jehovah's that Jaimes was a part of for a while as a child. She quickly becomes attracted to Marike [June Laporte], the daughter of pastor Frank [Tim Campbell].
