Beautiful drama about growing up, in which orientation conflicts with religion. Well acted but the whole thing comes across as lukewarm. I find it difficult that young people in the prime of their puberty allow themselves to be so meekly pushed back into the closet. The Danish film To Verdener (Niels Arden Oplev, 2008) deals with almost the same theme, but is much better.

After her father's death, Jaime [Anwen O'Driscoll] moves in with her aunt Beth [Liana Balaban] so her mother can get things in order. It is a temporary return to the Jehovah's that Jaimes was a part of for a while as a child. She quickly becomes attracted to Marike [June Laporte], the daughter of pastor Frank [Tim Campbell]. And although homosexuality is a taboo in the Jehovah's religious community, Marike actually shows that the feelings are mutual. Of course, that cannot continue to go well. Well acted, but predictable and somewhat slow romantic drama.
