The Last Victim plot
"No bodies. No convictions."
In a lonely desert town, a massacre takes place in a restaurant. The person responsible is the charismatic ideologue Jake and his strange band of outcasts. In a remote nature reserve, they want to make the bodies disappear for good. There they encounter the traveling married couple Susan and Richard. Though the latter is added to Jake's death toll, Susan manages to escape. In an effort to survive, she goes deeper into the wilderness, with the armed criminals on her trail.

Never underestimate the power of a woman. Strong ending with mescaline-inspired images of the evil that besets her (Larter) and she offers her heart to the gods, which leaves like a white dove. Then the knowledge of death that she carries within her also comes forward and makes the whole clear in terms of structure. Perlman excels in his role as sheriff in an area where hardly anything happens. Daulby as 'dumb guy' also lifts the acting a bit. The rest is too flat. Legg does her best.
