Documentary about the life and work of Saudi journalist Jamal Khasshoggi and the turbulent relationship between the United States and Saudi Arabia. When Jamal Khashoggi began publishing vicious columns about the new regime in The Washington Post in 2017 after his exile from Saudi Arabia, his life was no longer secure. In interviews with, among others, Khashoggi's wife, his Saudi and American friends, colleagues, diplomats and politicians, documentary maker Rick Rowley sheds light on both the life of Jamal Khashoggi and the development of his country in relation to the United States.
