Paola, een Beeld van een Vrouw plot

A biographical portrait of Queen Paola on the occasion of her 70th birthday, the story of her life based on archive images and an interview with a childhood friend. The documentary focuses on Paola's childhood in Italy. This is followed by the farewell to Italy and the marriage to Prince Albert. One is witness to Paola's mundane life at the side of Prince Albert. But the difficult period in her marriage is also discussed, the role of King Baudouin in this and the reconciliation with Albert. One sees how Paola unexpectedly becomes queen. Her children and grandchildren are also an important theme in the film.
