Hereditary (2018) and Midsommar (2019) were Ari Aster's promising debut feature films. That's why I was extra excited to see this short film. No idea why, but I often compare Aster to Jordan Peele (Get out (2017) and Us (2019)). Partly probably because we are dealing with a completely black cast here.

Excellent acting, especially from the father, where the fear and despair on his face can be read on the basis of dense facial expressions. The strongest scene was therefore the one where he was sitting at his desk in the dark and suddenly hears footsteps and sees the shadows from under the door.

Bizarre plot admittedly of incest within the family where the father is the victim and not the son (although the roles may have been reversed at the start). The ending was a bit abrupt and the role of the mother was played too little, but otherwise a pretty good short film.

Thought it was okay, but the son's acting performance (rather the lack of this) bothered me a bit. Mainly his speech, which occasionally misjudged the terrible things he said.
