Garras de Oro plot
An editor of a New York newspaper is accused of defamation in connection with an article about the president of the United States. In that article, the president was portrayed as the architect of the separation of Panama and Colombia, violating an international treaty and therefore, according to the editor, should not be eligible for re-election. The newspaper sends a team of investigators to Colombia to find evidence of the president's actions. One of them falls in love with the daughter of an employee of the Colombian consulate in New York.
