Surge plot

The quiet Joseph leads a frugal life in London where he divides his time between his flat and the airport, his workplace. The contact with his colleagues and even with his parents appears to be superficial. Meanwhile, something is brooding in the calm young man. Until the moment of eruption and Joseph can no longer control his impulses. Reckless and furious, he marches through the big city. Joseph has decided that he is no longer bound by boundaries.

Excellent film about a man who works as a security guard at an airport and doesn't have much else in life. A penetrating portrait of a man who completely loses himself. A number of uncomfortable scenes (especially those with his parents). The main character with all his strange traits and behavior is strongly portrayed by Whishaw. The fact that the camera stays close to his skin the whole time also helps.

A remarkable figure that Joseph. I could hardly grasp what exactly triggered his derailed behavior, but the fact is that the man had been struggling with psychological and social problems for some time. The relationships at work and with his parents are difficult and strictly functional. And I also had a very oppressive feeling from his parents.

Beautifully captured with the shocking chaotic camera shots as he walked through the streets of London. It was like a metaphor for his confused emotions and thoughts. Strong acting in this respect by Whishaw.

A movie where I wanted to know how it would end with Joseph. That in itself is already a good sign. Interesting!
