"A romance off the beaten path"
To avoid getting into a rut when their son leaves for college, Manhattanite Kate Conrad books a second honeymoon with her husband. But instead of thanking her, he suddenly breaks the relationship: defeated, Kate goes on a safari in Africa alone. During a detour through Zambia, she helps her pilot Derek Holliston to rescue a small orphaned elephant. They take him in together at the local elephant orphanage and Kate decides to extend her vacation until after Christmas. Far from the modern luxuries of home, Kate thrives amid majestic animals and landscapes, but could the love for her new surroundings extend to the man she shares her adventure with?
