The young Orthodox Jew Mordechai Wolkenbruch (nickname Motti) has a problem. His overprotective mother wants to pair him up with a neat Jewish girl. However, every potential bride that his mother introduces to him looks like her. When he meets Laura, who is studying the same as Motti, he falls in love with her. Another problem now arises. Laura is not Jewish and represents anything but orthodox Jewish life.
