Spanish. House. Grandma.
I thought those are the ingredients for a great horror movie. For fans of Spanish horror, this is simply great entertainment.
And that was indeed the case. Obviously not very innovative and it does follow the usual pattern, but nevertheless it is entertaining and exciting enough. Nowhere very scary or surprising, but enough entertainment value to put on.
I think the Spaniards can always create such a dark, gloomy atmosphere very well.

A gentle horror.
In the long run, I can appreciate these kinds of Spanish horror films. Knowing that these can also be quite atmospheric and exciting, I still had hope for this film, but it is a shame that it is unfortunately an exception to the rest of the Spanish horror films.
It has mainly become a well-behaved and tame film with a somewhat too slow pace. A bit of a standard drama that is also there and doesn't exactly work. Moreover, it does kill the pace a bit for the rest. The story could be a bit shorter actually.
But the tension also often fails. There is too little power from management in that area. Because it is all quite attractive and the house is well furnished. But the camera work is really lacking and the story and characters are not too interesting.
Here we are again faced with a possessed child story (gosh, how different it will be), but the effect sometimes wants to give this kind of standard event a push, but the effect here fails to do so. The child is definitely not creepy and the parents are not dealing with it well either (in both ways).
Also relies on some dumb scares that don't make much of an impression and a demon that isn't exactly scary. The nicest horror beast appears in almost the very last scene, but that turns out to be a dream. It's a shame, because in advance it seemed to be an atmospheric film that mainly seems to work around Halloween.
But it lacks any power, which makes the 99 minutes quite a task. Points for the atmospheric setting.
