K.G.F: Chapter 1 plot

"From The Streets Of Mumbai...To The Bloody Gold Mines Of Kolar"

Journalist Anand Ingalagi's book El-Dorado, which details events on the Kolar goldfields between 1951 and the present, has been banned by the government of India and all published copies have been burned. However, a television news channel provides a copy and interviews him around the events. Ingalagi relates that in May 1951 gold was discovered by authorized government officials in the southern part of the Indian state of Mysore. Raja Krishnappa "Rocky" Bairya is also born on the day of the discovery in the Mysore region, as the son of a poor widow. In the early 1980s he will fight against the oppressors of Kolar Gold Fields.

Unethical. There are quite a few bad things glorified in the film. I thought it was a film about a mentally ill mother and her son. Rocky is after power and wealth as desired by his dying mother. Everything is allowed and he likes to see himself as “the good guy” and the filmmakers apparently confirm this as there is no form of criticism of the main character, maybe because being obedient to your mentally ill mother is higher than what is morally responsible? Rocky says “violence likes me” and that he himself avoids violence, while it seems to me that he always initiates violence himself. No, I do not recommend this film. Everyone should keep their sanity. RRR and Pushpa are much more accessible to a western audience.
