A fascinating story that is unfortunately told in fits and starts due to the poor script. However, there are many interesting things in it. Carried by a nice cast that makes something of it. The film mixes Sibyl's past, her book and her client's problems, after which the boundaries become increasingly blurred. That in itself is good, but unfortunately the build-up and the real intrigue are somewhat lacking. So we could have lived here more, but we certainly enjoyed it.

Another psychodrama that takes itself very seriously but actually has little to say. It's still strange that Juliette Binoche is nowhere to be found. A psychologist accepts one last client before transitioning to a career as a writer. The client in question is an actress and pregnant from an affair with the director's husband. What makes it even more spicy is that the psychologist is actually attending therapy sessions herself and is confused with her life.

I still think Efira, Exarchopoulos and Sandra Huller are all high-quality actresses, so I got through it quite well. This is also the only reason why I wanted to give this film another chance. But such dramas with artistic snobs, tearful relationship crises, deconstructions/reconstructions no longer fascinate me, especially when they are presented in such an unoriginal way as here.

La vie est fiction o reality? This statement probably covers it all. Effra is led through the pitfall of transference and counter-transference within her own field to her own unresolved trauma by patient Exarchopoulos (La vie d'Adèle). Her past is thus relived. Despite the warnings of her own psychologist, she continues to fall back into old patterns. The whole thing tends towards a love triangle that ultimately doesn't happen. Given the developments at Stromboli with Ulliel and Heller, a menage a quatre could also have been possible. All in all a solid game with Italian 70's features. However, there could have been more in it.
