When Loes is called from the Cuban Embassy, she is speechless. She knew nothing about her daughter's relationship, let alone marrying a Cuban... She books the next flight to Havana and is determined to put a stop to this doomed marriage. During her stay on the island, Loes regains her faith in love. Just like her daughter, Loes also falls in love with Cuba.

What a terrible bad movie. Really horrible. What a scenario, what humor, what stupid stuff. Really just not funny at all. It made me very grumpy and irritable. Shameful for those actors, if they have to watch this movie again. What a turn-off. Waste of my time. Never watch this trash again.

By far the worst film by Nijenhuis. I just couldn't get into it. I didn't see any chemistry between the characters and the story was completely incoherent. Disappointing.

Idiotic slapstick and racist stereotypes in a formulaic, predictable, but smoothly made romcom from the pulp factory of Johan Nijenhuis. Loes [Susan Visser] is disappointed that her daughter Maartje [Abbey Hoes] is giving up her medical studies to marry Carlos [Rolf Sanchez], a Cuban doctor and salsa singer. She travels to Cuba with her son Hein [Niek Roozen] where she hopes to change Maartje's mind. Ex-husband Alex [Tjebbo Gerritsma] is also there with his girlfriend Machteld [Maaike Martens]. Martens gets off lightly, but she too should be ashamed of this offensive nonsense.
