Excellent film about a war journalist who has been reporting on several wars for decades, at the risk of her own life. Based on the professional and personal life of Marie Colvin. A fascinating main character who is strongly portrayed here by Rosamund Pike. The film shows well what kind of work she does and what the work does to her. The many war zones she visits look realistic. A small 4.0 stars.

I recently saw the similar Whiskey Tango Foxtrot (Film, 2016), which also focused on war journalism in the Middle East. Interesting to be able to see the passion and the risks that go with it, but to say that this film is exceptional, that is not the case.

Rosamund Pike does a fine job as a hard fearless war journalist. Not easy to tackle a biography, because the fiction can never/rarely imitate reality, neither as a character nor as an event.

Yet the places of the war suffering that are discussed look real, the chaos, fear and uncertainty also come to the fore, just like the ambition and determination of Marie Colvin herself. Interesting film with also events that can be placed in history (such as the death of Gaddafi).

Watched this biography once and it wasn't really a movie that makes you happy. I didn't know the woman, but it was a good introduction.

The cast did a good job and came across convinced. Other than that, the movie looked great.

It came across as a bit distant, but nevertheless it was worth watching.
