Bel Canto plot
Famous soprano singer Roxanne Coss travels to South America for a private concert at a birthday party of wealthy Japanese Katsumi Hosokawa. The party is attended by prominent persons from various countries. As the festivities progress, the guests are overpowered by guerrillas led by Commander Benjamin, who demand the release of imprisoned friends. The only contact with the outside world is Messner, a negotiator working for the Red Cross. Hostages and hostage takers must put aside their differences in the period that follows.
