"It's all about to kick off"

When Russian terrorists invade the West Ham United football stadium, they encounter former soldier Michael Knox who attends the match with his niece and tries to protect her from the terrorists at all costs. During the match, a cat-and-mouse game ensues in which Knox must free his niece from the terrorists' hands. This is another big challenge, because the stadium is full of explosives and enemies.

Is it original? No, is it a strong plot? No, but the elaboration of this meager plot is certainly successful in my opinion. Lots of action, a decent level of acting (even from the bad guys) and a running time that isn't too long.

Certainly seen less action movies than this Final Score. I'm honestly quite surprised by it!

Little expected, but got something.

3*

Thirteen-in-a-dozen action movie. Is that bad? Not necessarily, but there are dime-a-dozen action movies that were more exciting and action packed. This one lasted just a bit too long, was just a bit too meager with too big clichés and improbabilities.

Pierce Brosnan's accent was still pretty good.

A DFW film, so the subtitles were again full of exclamation marks, space errors and language errors that even a high school student should not make anymore. 'Too much', 'how long', 'go away', 'Football', 'killed'...

Better subtitles couldn't make this film better, but this still made for an overall B-appearance. Way to go, DFW.

Just enough.

The best thing about this film is how the makers managed to cram so much nonsense and idiocy into 104 minutes. Barely a minute goes by where you don't scratch your head about another stupid action or decision.

You take the one-dimensional characters, weak dialogues and loads of clichés for granted in an action film like this one. And the acting isn't even that bad. Except for that Asian. I can assume that after this absolutely dramatic acting attempt, he won't be able to work again soon.

I was already afraid I wouldn't really appreciate Final Score, but I wanted to give it a chance anyway. In retrospect, I should have listened to my intuition better.
