In cinemas from April 11... but already in the digital offering on TV.

Seems like the French answer to "The Marathon" and "The Full Monty". A group of men, all with their own problems, or in this case, losers, want to participate in a World Championships in synchronized swimming. For this they have to undergo rigorous training. These men must be trained from grumbling beer bellies to become graceful mermen.

Pure formula work and therefore nothing surprising. The easiest way is chosen, which is why terms such as "feel-good" and "crowdpleaser" arise. Quite fun to follow, although sometimes the scenes quickly jump from one thing to another, with the intention of giving equal attention to the many characters. The trainer in her wheelchair is also rather annoying. Yet the film also has a lot to offer: nice comical interaction between the actors (especially Poelvoorde is doing well again), a decent soundtrack and a good finale. The former films are much better and Le Graind Bain is nothing more than a nice variant.

A funny film, it reminded me of Full Monty when it comes to flags, but with a different idea. For a corny evening, it is certainly fun to see how a bunch of French people who form a synchronized swimming team really can't do anything in terms of that, but with a surprising ending that will surprise you

Mathieu Amalric is now increasingly one of my favorite actors, so I was pleasantly surprised that he is again in the title role. The film starts promisingly and certainly has a lot of potential. A group of men who all have their problems, and who attend a club together where they swim synchronously. Led by a young woman who had already made her mark in synchronized swimming in the past. In short, a script for a very promising film. But it soon becomes clear that the film unfortunately does not really want to go into depth. It doesn't go much further than some sauna sessions for the men. And no mutual relationships or friendships are built up between the men, at least not clearly visible. Something the film actually asks for. As a result, the film remains somewhat superficial and gradually becomes more and more predictable. That's too bad. Now it's just a great film that's fun to watch. But he doesn't really stick around.
