Carmen loses her daughter in an accident and has a hard time dealing with this. But then she receives an unexpected letter from the adoption agency stating that her daughter has finally gotten the Vietnamese girl she has asked for adoption and whose name is Thi Mai. Together with her two best friends, Elvira and Rosa, who never left Spain, Carmen decides to travel to Vietnam and take the child home.

Somewhat light-hearted film with a dramatic background. The sentimental gets the upper hand at times. The comedic scenes are not always of a high standard. What makes this film fun is the Vietnamese atmosphere. Chemistry between the actresses reminded me a bit of a Spanish version of the movies “Sex in the City”. Film is not bad, but will not appeal to everyone. You must love the Spanish language. For me a 3*.

Light-hearted film with a successful mix of drama and humour. Occasionally it flies out of the corner, but that is not really annoying. Quite nice actually, although the storyline about the gay seems a bit overdone. Beautiful images of Vietnam.
