"It's all in your head"
Tom is released from a mental institution. Due to the death of his parents, he inherits a mansion in which he settles. It quickly becomes apparent that something is not right with his new home and a series of disturbing events leads him to believe it is haunted.

Blumhouse
They produce quite a lot, and by American standards, for small sums. This one also didn't get a wide release. But unlike Seven in Heaven, it's not that bad of a film.
The film does retain that somewhat cheap feel. The daytime lighting and the VHS tapes are particularly uninspired. But the story is sufficiently mysterious, and Topher Grace is okay as the lead. The story has been a bit long, but it was reasonably entertaining. The only problem was the brother's somewhat random quirk. As a result, his reveal makes the film no more than a comic book villain.
Still, the climax was quite funny and it was nice to watch.

The director gives the viewer time to get a sense of what's going on in Tom's mind, where reality and madness constantly play out. You're constantly questioning what reality is. Gradually, certain events from the past become clearer, and you're drawn to a surprising climax you don't quite see coming. It's well-structured, sufficiently suspenseful, and has a satisfying ending. 7/10
