Mommy Dead and Dearest plot
"In this family, every illness was a lie - except the mother's."
In the year 2015, the lifeless body of Dee Dee Blancharde was found. She lay on her bed in a pool of blood and had probably been dead for several days. There was no trace of Gypsy Rose, Blancharde's ailing daughter. She was later linked to her mother's death. During the police investigation it became clear that terrible things were happening within the walls of the mother and daughter's house. This documentary takes a look at that.

Excellent documentary about a young woman responsible for the death of her mother. Mainly a special and tragic true story about a sick mother/daughter relationship. The structure could perhaps have been a bit better, but the archive material (including police interrogations) and the interviews with those directly involved (including the young woman herself) are fascinating enough. A small 4.0 stars.
