Paradise Lost 3: Purgatory plot

"The complete inside story of the West Memphis Three"

Third part of the documentary series about three teenagers who were convicted of the murders of three small children. The three defendants await their final appeals and new revelations point to a gross miscarriage of justice in the previous convictions of the three suspects. Newly obtained DNA evidence does not point to the suspect Mark Byers, but to someone who has so far been out of the picture.

Outstanding documentary about the three teens now known as the West Memphis Three. Although many new facts come to light here (compared to the first documentary), nothing new is actually said. The impact of the 1996 documentary and the media attention is certainly evident here. The 'characters' remain interesting and the epilogue of the whole case can be called downright bizarre.

Fascinating documentary (too bad I didn't see Paradise lost 1 + 2) that mainly shows how the American justice system is rattling on all sides. This of course makes the case even more exciting, with many interesting characters and a brilliant editing that completes it completely .I myself think based on the facts shown that the West Memphis three are innocent (although you never know what you have not seen) but I am not 100% sure either. The latter is mainly due to their, in my opinion in my opinion some apathetic and strange attitude during the trial, but well that proves nothing. Furthermore, the biased Jury chairman, the biased judge and the also not squeaky clean stepfathers of two of the murdered children only make the case more complicated and unclear. not for the creators of Paradise Lost 3: Purgatory because they make a clear and clear whole from all that jumble of facts, opinions and images. Very good.

Much better than the second part thankfully. Finally really new information in the case and completion of the story. It is a pity that the first three quarters of an hour feels more like a repetition of all the information that has already been presented in the first two parts. Then it gets really interesting when a few professionals in different fields reveal their new finds. Of course, Byers cannot be missed and he also has his special moments in this third part. The interviews with the three convicts should have received more attention from me, just like Damien's past. You will discover a lot of things about him if you do some research yourself and that has now not been discussed at all in three parts. Missed opportunity, although after part one the documentary no longer comes across as objective. Strange construction by the way, that Alford plea.
