Crazy for Football: The Craziest World Cup plot
A group of patients from psychiatric institutions all over Italy, a psychiatrist (Santo Rullo) as a sports director, a former mini football player (Enrico Zanchini) as a trainer and a boxing champion (Vincenzo Cantatore) who is responsible for the physical preparation. These are the protagonists of Crazy for Football, the documentary film by Volfango De Biasi about the first Italian national indoor soccer team to participate in the World Championships in Osaka for psychiatric patients. A journey from Italy to Japan. The thread running through this film, however, is another journey that goes much deeper and penetrates the consciousness of those who have struggled with mental illness.
