"Not having children isn't the worst thing that can happen to you..." but that doesn't apply to Jake and Elena, and a breakup follows.

But time heals wounds, and if love is strong enough, the future may still smile upon you.

Not a groundbreaking romance film, but still solidly made and carried primarily by both lead actors, who fully demonstrate their versatility in acting. Josh O'Connor, whom I recently saw as the unhappy son in "Hope Gap"—O'Connor seems to be in vogue at the moment—certainly does so, but what can be said of Laia Costa's stunningly sensitive performance?

Acceptable story. In a film about love, feelings take precedence, and those are personal. Logic or illogicality plays no part here.

Despite the long running time and the fairly straightforward story, the film still manages not to become boring or tedious. Quite an impressive job by the director and cast, then.

It is nice to choose a somewhat lesser-known location like Glasgow, and Costa is fun again as a Spanish immigrant.

A good film about a man and a woman who meet on New Year's Eve and fall in love. A beautiful, understated relationship drama. The kind of film that stands or falls on the two lead actors, and that is certainly the case here with Josh O'Connor and Laia Costa. There is great chemistry, and the various stages the couple goes through are well portrayed.
