Documentary about Dutch film production between 1958 - the founding of the Film Academy - and 1993 tries to answer two very simple questions: who wants to film what in the Netherlands and why? And why do so many film people seek refuge abroad? The makers Robbe de Hert and Willem Thijssen left the answers of these questions to many involved in the film world with thirty hours of film material and the question of how the many fascinating and candid stories can be reduced to a film of 118 minutes.
