Ludwig - Requiem für einen Jungfräulichen König plot

The eccentric King Ludwig II of Bavaria is under the spell of his mistress Lola Montez. He is only concerned with art and music and rejects modern, industrial life. He supports and finances the composer Richard Wagner and is friends with his cousin Elizabeth (Empress of Austria and Queen of Hungary). Due to his political and financial mismanagement, he is declared insane by the press.
