"Who Broke the Internet?"
Ralph and his best friend Vanellope travel to the World Wide Web to save Vanellope's game Sugar Rush. After I first saw the original Wreck-It Ralph on TV a few weeks ago and which turned out to be very nice, I went to see it two weeks ago on my free afternoon in Antwerp.
Unfortunately it turned out to be dubbed, would have preferred the original version.
Well, it was a bit disappointing after the much smoother first part for me.
In itself there were many funny and funny bits in it, with nice winks to the internet, I would call an Ebay, pop-up commercials, viruses etc., but as a whole I didn't like it running, too fragmented and somewhat too long-winded. Especially the whole race part took a bit too long for me.
Furthermore, it turned out that the nicest scene from the trailer was not in it, but that was made up for during the credits, which does not alter the fact that by showing it only then, this does not necessarily make the actual film better.
Also, stay put until the last second, because at the end there will be some more!
In short: reasonable, but much less than I expected.
A five, or 2.5 star.

Nice. Ralph Breaks the Internet is a funny, heartwarming and fast-paced sequel to the first Wreck-It Ralph movie, and this time Ralph and Vanellope find themselves in the internet. With all its consequences. The dangers of social media, the desire for fame, the hate speech, but also all the positive sides of the internet are discussed.
The friendship between Ralph and Vanellope is still at the heart of the film, and C. Reilly and Silverman are a fantastic match. But Gadot, Henson and Lynch are also in good shape, and the racing scene between Shank and Vanellope/Ralph is a spectacular highlight. Just like the princess scene where all Disney princesses come together. Funny and original, it's a scene that shows how detailed the creators went to work.

Barely a movie.
I recently went through that whole corporate rimram with The Emoji Movie, but Disney can of course do better. Not only do they have to put a lot of well-known internet companies in the spotlight, but they also have their own franchises that they can exploit. Oh nice, Disney referring to Disney why do you sometimes get the idea of watching a raunchy two-hour commercial?
Then you have not one plot, but two plots about girls being oppressed by the angry Ralph. Vanellope who doesn't fit into the straitjacket of the sweet candy world but has trouble not denying himself for Ralph's dream, for dessert then the princesses who can play rescue from the great male hero. Writers get there, I think, bonuses per politically correct nonsense that they can incorporate in their film, what kind of nonsense you have every time these days. And empowered that people are now.
Furthermore, the whole game hassle is pushed aside for some more internet chatter. Platitudes and a polished internet are not very attractive, aesthetically my expectations are very low with this kind of animation, but also technically this film does not offer much interesting. Annoying soundtrack and meager voice actors are also a classic.
And then the playing time. Mno, I thought part 1 still had a certain charm, this is just bursting at the seams with forced nonsense. It hardly has anything to do with film anymore, but with corporate interests, franchise management and as few people as possible kicking the shins.
Also interesting is the title, after part 1 you would really expect Ralph Wrecks the Internet. But "breaks the internet" will have done much better in terms of SEO & clickbait (and therefore free advertising). Good research Disney!
