Indeed, you don't see more than half of Iraq in this long film, but what you do see is quite intense at times. The story actually takes place largely at the training center for military bomb and explosives disposal dogs (does that word even exist?) and focuses on Megan's fight to get her dog adopted.
The director could also have included more of her mental breakdown after the war in Iraq, of which you only get a glimpse. Ultimately, I can conclude that it is a beautiful film in itself that is engaging and certainly not boring. And it did get emotional now and then, at least to my feeling.
A solid 7!
