Corman does Wood Jr.

As if the director of the bad taste personally apprenticed with the infamous filmmaker. Everything is (not) correct.

Crappy acting, ugly camera work, a weak script and crappy SFX. Now, most monster movies are often the most fun because of the titles and posters, but this one has nothing to offer other than that.

Bad.

A film about crabs mutated by nuclear tests. A weak story with bad effects, an immense crab with very big eyes that can communicate in a way that looks like a voice over and an attempt to create something exciting while the film is not exciting. Nevertheless, some things do happen and it has a short running time, making it still quite watchable. I could still see the humor in this film, although I doubt whether that was the intention of this film. It's just a shame that the ending is so incredibly bad.

Every now and then a giant bug movie is okay. Especially the older ones from the 50s are always amusing. No ants here, but giant crabs that have been reduced to larger proportions by atomic tests. You hear the same song with Godzilla.

The animals themselves look reasonable. Quite static, yes, but quite okay for that time. I didn't like that communication. All in all, well done. It did indeed look fine under water.

With its 62 minutes, it is ideal for a quick pick-up. Certainly not boring. But of course you shouldn't expect too much from it either. The movie poster is quite misleading in that regard.
